Dr Ajith Kumar C.
Dr. Ajith Kumar C, has been serving as Assistant Professor in the School of Education, IGNOU, New Delhi since 2011.He has completed M.Ed. in Science Education (Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala), M.Sc. Physics & M.Phil. Education (University of Calicut, Kerala), PGDDE (IGNOU, New Delhi) and Ph.D. from IASE, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He started career as a Higher Secondary Teacher in Physics, later shifted to teacher training and has more than 18 years of experience in teaching. He has published edited books and more than 50 publications that include research papers and articles in national and international journals. He has also contributed units for various ODL institutions. He has attended and presented research papers in various seminars and conferences.
His areas of interest are educational technology, statistics in research, science education, teacher education, higher education and open and distance learning, He has delivered more than 300 invited talks that include lectures in national and international seminars, UGC-HRDCs and also acted as resource person in various national/international workshops and teacher training programmes held across the country. Also, he has contributed more than 70 video lectures for SWAYAM- MOOC programmes, videos for Swayam Prabha channel and developed eContent for various courses and delivered more than 100 live lectures through Radio and Television (Gyandarshan).
He is also associated with various national and international academic organisations like CEMCA, NCERT, NIOS, CBSE, UGC, NTA, etc. At present he is the coordinator of the Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Technology (PGDET) and Post Graduate Certificate In Adult Education (PGCAE) programme offered by the School of Education, IGNOU. He has also coordinated a staff development training programme ‘ICTs for Distance and Online Learning' through Moodle for the higher education teachers of Guyana. Along with that he is also coordinating various courses of different programmes of School of Education, IGNOU. At present he is supervising 2 research scholars of doctoral degree programmes.
He is also the coordinator of Channel 16 of Swayam Prabha and course coordinator of the MOOC 'Selection and Integration of Technology in Educational Processes' offered through the SWAYAM platform of Govt. of India
