Each year, PhD students earn doctoral credits (CD) as detailed on the following page .
First-year students primarily earn credits by taking disciplinary training courses or research initiation courses and seminar activities proposed by the PhD Council , with descriptions available on the corresponding page . At the end of each course, students receive a grade from the lecturer based on their performance during the course. Students may take other doctoral-level courses instead of the proposed ones, subject to approval from the PhD Council. To advance to the second year, students will present their activities at a doctoral symposium at the end of the first year (October), accompanied by a report of their research plan.
Second year
This year is primarily dedicated to thesis work under the guidance of their supervisor, and credits are earned by completing disciplinary training alongside extracurricular activities. To progress to the final year, students will present their activities at a doctoral symposium at the end of the second year (October), accompanied by a report of their research activities.
In the third year, there is an increase in activities for disseminating research results. To be admitted to the final exam in October, students present their last annual report on their research, and in the following March, they defend their thesis before a Doctorate committee (with at least two external reviewers), after passing a peer review process by two experts in the field.
Training period abroad
During the three years of the program, students spend at least three months abroad, participating in research stays and attending international conferences or schools.

Winter school on "Advanced Numerical Methods for Machine and Deep Learning".
The purpose of the PhD program in Mathematics is to introduce the students to mathematical research, both pure and applied. It educates and trains the future researchers in universities, industries (production and services).
The PhD in Mathematics prepares its students for professional and academic careers in Mathematics and its applications. To attain this goal, the doctoral program provides: • a broad and high-level preparation in mathematics; • the opportunity to deepen mathematical understanding and abilities through scientific research;
